M.U.T. is an acronym for our discipleship process here at Rio Life. We believe that there are three essential areas of growth for ever believer, MINISTRY, UNDERSTANDING, and TRANSFORMATION.
MINISTRY is an area of the Christian life that many think or feel is only for the spiritual elite such as pastors or elders. But have you ever realized that God has given everyone in the church a ministry? We want you to grow in your capability to do whatever ministry God has personally given you. By plugging in to a life group and building deep relationships you will begin to discover where God has empowered you to do his work.
UNDERSTANDING is constantly supported and encouraged throughout the Bible. God wants us to know his Word and live it faithfully. We don’t want to learn theology and Bible just to become a bible know it all. We want to learn God’s Word and principles so that we can obey it. By joining a study group you can begin to study God’s Word in community and apply it to your every day life.
TRANSFROMATION is the process which God takes us through in order to shape our character. This is possible because he gives us spiritual life though His Son Jesus Christ. We believe that transformation does not happen over night, but is a life long journey. God is continually constructing our character to Christ-like maturity. God is not concerned with people conforming and merely agreeing with what His Word states. Transformation has to do with a person’s heart. Our character is who we are and what we do when no one is watching.
These areas of Christian growth are to be proportionately sought for in our lives. We don’t want to overemphasis one area while neglecting another.
